Crane Busbar

Go to page
How often should a crane busbar system be maintained?

It depends on how intensively the system is used, but we recommend checking the busbar line during periodic crane maintenance. The carbon brushes that carry the current wear through friction, so they should be checked at least twice a year and replaced when they reach the wear limit.

Can an enclosed crane busbar be used outdoors?

Yes. Enclosed busbar systems with special seals, a suitable IP protection class and resistance to sunlight (UV) can be used safely on gantry cranes working outdoors.

Why does voltage drop occur in a busbar system?

In very long crane bays (for example, over 100 metres), feeding from a single point can cause a voltage drop towards the end of the line. To prevent this, the line should be fed from the middle or from more than one point.

Crane Overload Sensor

Go to page
What Is a Crane Overload Sensor (Overload Switch)?

BAYS Series Mechanical Crane Overload Sensors (Overload Switches) are high-precision safety devices developed to prevent accidents and equipment damage caused by overloading in industrial lifting and handling systems. Used on overhead cranes, gantry cranes, monorail systems and electric hoists, the BAYS series automatically stops the lifting movement when the declared maximum lifting capacity of the crane is exceeded. Designed in line with occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation in Türkiye and worldwide, the system both ensures operator safety and protects the mechanical parts of the crane (wire rope, drum, gearbox).

Is it compulsory to use a crane overload sensor?

Yes. Under Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and the lifting equipment regulations, crane systems above certain capacities are legally required to have safety devices that prevent an overload being lifted.

Which crane brands is the BAYS series compatible with?

The BAYS series is fully compatible with all overhead, gantry and monorail electric crane systems that work with wire rope, regardless of brand, model or origin.

Does fitting the sensor shorten the lifting distance of the crane?

No. The compact 150 mm design of the BAYS series does not affect the upper approach distance of the hook blocks or the net lifting height.

Do you provide on-site installation and calibration?

Yes. The Beta Crane technical team provides sales, installation, calibration and periodic inspection of crane overload sensors across Türkiye.

Monorail Crane

Go to page
Why Choose Beta Monorail Crane Systems?

Occupational safety, long life and operational speed are our first principles in lifting equipment. Built to the same quality standards as our double girder and single girder overhead cranes, our monorail cranes offer these advantages: - High Safety: Equipped with electromagnetic disc brake systems, overload limiters and rotary limit switches. - Precise Travel Technology: Inverter-driven systems give soft starts and stops that reduce load swing to zero during travel. - Suited to Heavy Duty Conditions: Helical gear units to FEM / ISO standards and a modular body structure. - Flexibility: Special travel trolleys that move without binding on curved NPI lines.

What is the main difference between a monorail crane and an overhead crane?

Monorail cranes move only along a single rail line (on the X and Z axes): forward and back, up and down. An overhead (bridge) crane works on a bridge that travels on a second axis, so it can carry loads across the whole bay (X, Y and Z axes).

Can a monorail crane be used as an overhead crane hoist?

Yes. In single girder overhead crane systems, monorail crane units act as the main hoist trolley suspended beneath the bridge. They can also work on a single I-profile fixed to the roof frame.

Can monorail cranes be used on curved lines?

Yes. In addition to straight lines, monorail cranes with special end carriages suited to the turning radius are used on lines that are curved to follow the factory layout or that use a turntable.
